The building offers a calm, updated environment at reasonable rates, but structural problems with water damage and mold have persisted for years with minimal action from management. Health and safety concerns, slow repair timelines, and three management company changes in one year suggest underlying ownership issues.
Based on limited recent reviews, so treat this as low-confidence.

West 1901 maintains a 4.8-star rating across four Google reviews with no low ratings. Limited review text prevents detail, but the strong score suggests residents report positive management.
Whisperwind offers budget apartments in a quiet Arlington Heights neighborhood with a pool and low utility costs, but persistent maintenance failures and pest problems undermine the value. Recent reviews describe broken laundry facilities, poor drainage, roach infestations, and concerning conduct by on-site maintenance staff; older reviews suggest the property has deteriorated despite rent increases over the past decade.
Units are updated despite the building's age. Courtyard layout and interior upkeep draw approval, though prospective tenants should expect a vintage structure.
